THREE CONTENDERS FOR SATURDAY'S STAKE FROM BARN OF FERRARO

FARMINGTON, N.Y. – Three of the eight contenders in the 15th renewal of the $50,000 Jack Betta Be Rite Handicap are from the barn of trainer Michael S. Ferraro. The annual route is scheduled to be run on Saturday at Finger Lakes Gaming and Racetrack.
The coupled entry of Bob’s Dylan and Afleet Alexandra are the 8-5 favorites for the one-mile and seventy yard event for New York-bred fillies and mares. The 4-year-old fillies owned by Blue Star Stable finished first and second respectively in the $50,000 Susan B. Anthony Handicap on June 14. Jockey John Davila, Jr. is listed on both fillies and it has not yet been determined who he will ride.
Bob’s Dylan returns to Finger Lakes after finishing off-the-board in her last three starts on the artificial surface at Presque Isle Downs in Erie, Pennsylvania. The 123-pound highweight has achieved eight of her nine lifetime wins on the dirt at Finger Lakes. She has won her last five starts at the western New York track since finishing fourth in the $75,000 New York Oaks on August 31, 2008. Afleet Alexandra had five victories in 2008 and won both the awards for best 3-year-old filly and Best Female Condition Allowance Horse. Her most notable performance last season was her three and one-half length victory in the $75,000 New York Oaks. The $204,564 earner finished second to Bob’s Dylan in three different races this year.
Lovely Daniella will run uncoupled from her stablemates on Saturday. The bay filly has recorded
seven career victories and hasn’t lost in her three starts over a wet racing surface. A jockey has not yet been listed to ride the 6-1 outsider for owner Shining Starlite Racing.All top three finishers of the the $50,000 Susan B. Anthony Handicap on June 14 were from the barn of trainer Michael S. Ferraro. Bob’s Dylan scored a three length victory over stablemates Afleet Alexandra and Sweet Lorena in the six furlong event. Ferraro also accomplished a sweep of the $20,000 General Sullivan Stakes at Finger Lakes on July 4, 1981 with Fio Rito, Sea Bourne and D. J’s Nitecap.
