FARMINGTON, N.Y. – The sixth renewal of the $50,000 Finger Lakes Juvenile Fillies is scheduled to be run at Finger Lakes Gaming and Racetrack on Saturday. Gator Prowl is the 8-5 program choice for the six furlong sprint restricted to 2-year-old fillies.

The Florida-bred has won two of her three career starts with her only defeat occurring in a graded stake against male rivals. The John Salzman-trainee finished a respectable fifth despite a slow start in the $100,000 Kentucky Juvenile at Churchill Downs on April 30. The five furlong distance of the Grade 3 event was the furthest she traveled in any of her three lifetime starts.

Gator Prowl was a bargain purchase of $7,000 as a yearling and has already amassed $32,350 in purse earnings. She will be tested in a six furlong race for the first time on Saturday and will be ridden by jockey Jonathan Joyce.

Winning Image is the 2-1 second choice on the morning line after two consecutive victories by multiple lengths. The Kentucky-bred, owned by Martin Scafidi, defeated male opponents by five and three-quarter lengths in her most recent start at Suffolk Downs on September 29. Jockey Clifford Dooley will be aboard the chestnut filly for trainer Michael Charles Aro.

There are a total of eight competitors entered for the $50,000 Finger Lakes Juvenile Fillies
which will be run as the eighth race on Saturday’s card. Post time for the first race is set at 1:10 p.m. Gaming doors open at 10:00 a.m. and racing gates open at 11:30 a.m.
